Picasa

Often, people use Photoshop, others ACDSee or for some an online photo sharing/editing website.

But for me this website and its application works, and would you believe I can be Picasso (well, maybe not).

FYI: for Blogger users, images you uploaded in your blog is hosted in Picasa so if you have a Google Account/ID you can already see all of your photos there.

You'll get the best of both worlds of Picasa, I used this with my photo editing and organizing pictures.

It helped me with photo and image designs, and I even created e-cards using this.

Picasa is an application for organizing and editing digital photos, while Picasa Web Albums lets you share and manage your photos online for personal or business. Share it with family and friends, publish it or flaunt it worldwide. The best thing about this is its free and easy to use, no complications, whatsoever in editing your photos, with seemingly elegant features of useful menus and buttons. It also has a remarkable photo viewer where you can drag the photos and be seen in a transparent platform.

You can share your album/s in private or publicly, it let's you organize and give you options what to do with your pictures with easy upload and download tools to use. Share, link or embed your album to anywhere or for anyone, or even create a slideshow that you can put on your website or blog. There are also additional features like, Album Map where you can easily geo-tag your photos and Name Tags by easily identifying faces and group them accordingly.

Favorites:

Let's you choose your favorite ones so you can be updated on their activities upon adding new contents on their public albums or fan a person's public gallery and also view anyone who added you in their favorites, in fan tab. While, Suggested Favorites helped you add to Favorites section, your contacts in Google Account. In addition, if you shared album/s with someone, you can easily download or print photos for safe keeping.

Simply take a glimpse of the photo galleries that people shares around the globe, be amazed of every photo you'll view and see it captures your eye on every posters individuality with an exploration to each and everyones pictures.

Picasa 3 (application)

After downloading Picasa 3.6 and opening it of course, it will scan your hardrive for photos and organize it, or you'll also have the option on what photos would be uploaded in Picasa or create folders of your own. By this time you can easily manage your pictures to make retouches and get rid of the blemishes. Import or Export through the web using Picasa Web Albums, Blogger, Email, etc. There are also Name Tagging and Geo Tagging here where you can also synchronize it with your Picasa Web Album or Goggle Account Contacts.

Picasa uploaded photos exist only in the application so upon editing your photos, you can still have the same pictures you have in your hard drive, the good thing about this is that it doesn't take up extra space on your memory because it creates a virtual space for your photos, but don't worry because you can also make a copy in your hardrive, in case you want to put it in other use.

Make a Collage, create a movie, print your creation or a picture, shop products and prints from your online provider or blog about an album or photos, and the best part is editing.

Basic Fixes - it let's you crop into sizes of the image, straighten any uneven pictures, fix the redeye, auto contrast, auto color, retouch, put text or the famous line of "I'm Feeling Lucky" by Google, that automatically guesses what enhancement would be made.

Tuning - advanced settings to edit the contrast of the picture, choose from Fill Light, Highlights, Shadows, Color Temperature and Neutral Color Picker.

Effects - makes your picture/s more appealing or go crazy and create your own settings. Select from Sepia, Sharpen, Warmify, Film Grain, Tint, Saturation, Soft Focus, Glow, B&W, Filtered B&W, Focal B&W, and Graduated Tint.
