I'm into Business Process Outsourcing, but I decided to turn my back on the corporate world and pursue my dream, on becoming a Professional Blogger and continue my course on Web Developing. At first, I was hesitant. Finding an online work is not an easy task to do. I am not at ease introducing my bio in the World Wide Web, but building credibility is a must and introducing yourself is the first step at hand.
Would you believe I started making money out of nothing and with a sheer luck of having a borrowed PC?
I only started earning $0.01, doing Pay to Click Ads and soon progress to Internet Marketing, that is the only result I found in Google when I search for "online jobs", because most of online work are scams, you have to be a keen researcher to figure that out. With patience, perseverance and prayers, I found...
As it explains itself, "it is the marketplace for online workers", also referred as freelancer. It helps you find buyers (employers) to hire providers (employees) to do a job or vice versa. Unlike other outsourcing site for freelance, oDesk is not just posting your resume on their website but it helps you progress, select from different field of work, and enhance your skills in the process.

Beginning
Creating an account is free and easy.
After providing all the information you can now start learning the process and believe me, this is the most important part, but no worries because there would be a step-by-step guide along the way. When you're ready, you have to pass the oDesk Readiness Test to be able to edit your resume and portfolio, also post or look for a job. Best thing about oDesk is it will guide you through the process every step of the way.
Career
You can select from various choices of jobs that varies from Web Development, Writing and Translation, Customer
Service, Software Development, Administrative Support, Sales and
Marketing, Networking and Information Systems, Design and Multimedia
and Business Services. Find the most suitable for you, when I started searching for a job I only connect to Customer Service because I have more experienced in that category, after applying for weeks and no one hired me, I was a little bit frustrated but oDesk didn't left me at all, it ask me, "what's wrong?", gave me tips and advices. It provided great interaction with its community; it is involved, until I progress into Article Writing and Blogging, where I started having a stable work. Also, be wary on picking a job, be sure that it will not just earn you money but would enhance your skills as well.
You can also select from any available rates given.
Hourly Rates - a work that can be paid or will be paid on an hourly basis. This requires involvement but provides stable career or a constant provider. You have to download the oDesk Team Application to be able to monitor the job and log into work diaries.
Fixed Rates - after the project is through that's the time a provider can get his payment and for buyers, you don't have to check on logging hours because it is a pay per deliverable. If you're just getting started to acquire work, this rate is the first thing you may want to explore, it may be a vast chance to establish feedbacks that can help develop
long-term opportunities.
Progress
Building a career even in any other marketplaces would be tough at first, even finding a reliable and trustworthy provider, as I've said earlier, "finding an online work is not an easy task to do", it requires building your credibility. The best thing you have to do is build a great resume and portfolio or establish a good posted work. oDesk can provide you examples and guides on doing this. It will help you from hiring, managing, paying for Buyers, and working and being paid for Providers.
For Providers
Get yourself involve, read and learn the important facts, I'm sure there are loads of information provided for you and also interact with the community through their forums. Take time to furnish your Provider Profile, create a good one that will enable you to highlight your skills and experiences. Make sure to impress buyers with your qualification tests and answer as many as possible, since it will give you notion that you are capable. Maintain good communication and provide the best solution.
For Buyers
Follow the guiding principle that’s presented, the job form and examples that is made accessible by Odesk which lets you specify what you are searching that would draw the type of providers you require. Detailed the kind of work, timeline and organize a good communication to interest more providers who can work within your needs. Establish a good reputation, have a good management, give the best work that
can contribute not only to your company but to the providers as well.
When I got my first payment, it was an accomplishment and oDesk help me throughout
that goal, which provided me with an excellent buyer. I earned $10 for my first article-writing job and progressing to do more work.
